The IBMP is an independent research institute dedicated to biomedical and pharmaceutical research.
The goal is to improve drug treatment. Research focuses on medicinal products in general, including antibiotics and anti-cancer treatments in particular.
The results of the institute have led to the fact that treatment with 70 different anti-infectives can be optimized at Klinikum Nürnberg / Paracelsus Medical University in a program that is unique worldwide, thus improving the chances of survival for patients with sepsis or septic shock and other serious infectious diseases.
We also conduct research on drugs and doping. On these issues, the IBMP is one of the most popular non-governmental institutes in the leading German media, such as ARD/ ZDF/ arte/ SPIEGEL/ SZ/ FAZ/ Tagesspiegel.
The head of the institute attributes the great success to around 100 collaborations with the world's leading universities and other research centers. This resulted in around 700 scientific contributions for specialist groups , 30 doctoral dissertations and habilitations, and around the same number for the lay press.
